In early 2006 I was on a 5 week break from working on the Queen Mary 2 and was in South Africa with some friends, and a company had heard of myself and my three friends and asked us to meet them in Durban for an interview. The company is North Island (www.north-island.com) and it's an island in the Seychelles, they were just announced as the number one destination/place on the planet! So we did the interview... As it turned out there wasn’t a suitable position available for me at the time, and I returned to the QM2.
In October 2006 I received a call from the manager of North Island asking if I would be interested in coming to North Island to manage the spa. This was something I couldn't say no to ... so by November I was in the Seychelles. The spa is made of two beautiful villas on the side of a mountain overlooking the island and beautiful Indian Ocean. I have my own villa I live in, and the weather never gets below 24 degrees here....ever! The service and the way we go out about it is amazing, like most of our guests say "There is nothing like this anywhere else in the world" and I feel so lucky... I've worked on the most luxurious cruise ship in the world, and am now working at the number one resort in the world...

Hi Raymond
I would like to take the time to thank you for your inspiration and teachings and share with you a little of my journey since leaving ESTT.
What my studies at ESTT taught me was to think as big as I wanted and never to look back.
The massage that I learn’t has been an invaluable tool but also it was a stepping stone to my current career. You opened the doors to my possibility, you helped me to believe that the world was waiting for me to create my mark.
In 2002 I opened the spa at Peppers Springs Retreat, Hepburn Springs, we opened with 5 treatment areas and 7 staff, two years down the track we moved into the purpose built Mineral Spa located in the ground of Peppers Springs Retreat, we have a large water therapy area, 11 treatment areas and a staff of 23.
We recently picked up the Best Destination Spa Experience in Australia, Australian Travel and Tourism Awards 2006, and were also nominated in 2005. We also won the ‘Best Health and Wellness Category in the 2006 Victorian Tourism awards, a huge achievement as this is based on a written submission that I did for the spa.
I have created an amazing spa culture with the team of therapists here who love what they do, enjoy coming to work everyday and are fantastic people.

Thank you for the tools that helped me create an amazing life.

My name is Alan J. Thomas, L.M.T., CPT, and I graduated from ESTT College of Natural Medicine in 1998. During my five and a half years, I obtained certification in Relaxation, Sports, and Remedial (Medical) Massage.
I am now living in Sarasota, Florida, in the United States. When I arrived here, I was a Licensed Massage Therapist in Victoria, Australia. In order to work here as a massage therapists, I needed to take a National Exam and obtain my Florida Massage License. Every two years, I have to take continuing education courses to maintain my licensure (26 CEU's). I am also a Certified Personal Trainer.
I have started a business called International Massage - www.internationalmassage.org . I contract out to individual rehabilitation facilities, and work one-on-one with private clients. A few of my accomplishments are six-time Victorian, three-time Australian and once US Massage Therapist Representative. During the summer of 2004, I was one of 100 Sports Massage Therapists in the world to be selected to work as a Volunteer at the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
I have also had the honor of working at the U.S. Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I was hired to work with the Michael Flatley's (Irish Dancers) Lord of The Dance, and a Braodway show called Wicked. As a hobby, I am the massage therpist and assistant coach for the Florida Redbacks Australian Rules Football Team here in Sarasota, Florida.
I strongly believe that the above accomplishments would not have been possible without the expertise of Professor Raymond Carroll, lecturers, administration and fellow classmates. the foundation that I received at ESTT in the skills and knowledge of Massage, have enabled me to compete in my profession at the highest level possible. I would like to say, that I would highly recommend ESTT College of Natural Medicine to anyone who wants to excel in the field of Massage Therapy.

What can I say so far about my time at E.S.T.T?
What an adventure, how have I grown, how I have changed!
During my time at E.S.T.T. I have learnt an enormous amount about massage how it benefits the physical and emotional body, the health and science behind the healing touch and the personal growth I have achieved has been phenomenal. I started my journey at E.S.T.T. College of Natural medicine nearly 2 years ago as a student that had just finished year 12 with a nervous and care-free attitude to learning and life.
As I entered E.S.T.T I was given one on one attention from all my teachers, everybody is willing to help each other and I developed a positive attitude to learning as well as increasing my own health. E.S.T.T. has taught me the gift of massage that I can offer to so many different genres of society.
I have worked with A.F.L footballers at Richmond football club for the majority of 2005, working with elite athletes as well working at S.E.A.D.S a drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinic and M.E.C.W.A working with brain and spinal injuries.
The school has offered me the world in the 2 years I have been here and now as I am about to graduate with a Health and Science diploma In Medical Massage I will have the skills and knowledge to gain employment in the field I wish... even the possibility of working on the Queen Mary II.

Dear Raymond,
I would just like to take this opportunity to thank ESTT, both the establishment and the teachers, for the wonderful training I received back in `93, `94, `95 and `96.
In recent years I have relocated to a new part of Victoria and consequeatly had to find myself some new massage therapists. In doing so I experienced a number of different therapists from different schooling backgrounds, but once again for me it was the ESTT graduates that stood out.
That experience has reminded me and made me appreciate again just how thorough and well-rounded my training at ESTT had been. I would like to commend ESTT on the quality and standard of their courses and, in particular, their attention to detail. I thoroughly recommend this school for anyone interested in making a career in massage therapy.
Raymond, you may already Know that I have started working in Tracy Flemings clinic in Leongatha. I am only doing one permanent day a week at the moment and extra shifts when they are short-staffed. Tracy has built up a great practice here and is a very good therapist. Both her and Nicole are very easy going and it's a very positive environment to work in and a nice break from working solo in a small town!

Studying at ESTT College of Natural Medicine has been a life-changing experience. Transition from a student to a Medical Massage Therapist.
It is not only an education on natural medicine, it is a journey of self and personal development. The unique community culture, support from the Principal, Lecturers, Administration and fellow students have embraced me to help further my career.
I have been given the key to the door of opportunities, to travel the world with the knowledge and hand skills I have learned over the course of completing my two diplomas.
